Life is about adventure. If you have no adventure in your life, you are not really going to be having much fun. The word “adventure” is derived from the Latin advenire = from ad- + venire to come. The very root of the word suggests that you are going from one experience and coming into another experience. The one thing adventure does not mean is being in a rut, or digging a grave, or being caged up. To have adventure in your life means that you are not going to have a boring, mundane existence. Adventure means that you are going to enjoy your life.

Interestingly, just yesterday a woman was asking me about how to make money on the share market and what share-trading involved. She said that she felt it was too risky. Then I suggested that she might feel more comfortable making money from buying and selling property without actually putting up any money. To my amazement, she said that sounded too risky and she wasn’t prepared to take the chance of losing any money.

Maybe this woman is adventurous in other ways. Many people are. She could be a sky-diver or a base jumper. She might have some other risky habits which put her own life at risk, only she is afraid of risking her money to make a profit or taking on responsibility to obtain a guaranteed profit.

Adventure does involve degrees of danger and unknown risks, if you go to extremes. So people see gambling as an adventure. Only with gambling the risk is known. You will go broke when you have lost everything you have; unless, of course, you decide to borrow money from loan sharks, then you might find that going broke means getting a few broken bones.

Personally, I like to look at adventure as being an experience. You can even have adventures in your own mind, simply by using your imagination. However, at some point these need to have some expression, not verbal diarrhea, but something more tasteful, and, hopefully, motivational, so you take action and turn what could be merely a fantasy of the mind into a reality in your life–for all things are possible for those who believe.

You may have heard of the saying, “What the mind can conceive, it is possible for you to achieve.”

Whatever you can conceive with your mind, believe you can achieve it and you will find a way to do so. An idea that is exciting can now turn into a remarkable experience, or many remarkable experiences as you set upon your adventure of bringing your idea into fruition. In most instances, this will require some financial risk; all enterprises do. But you can limit your risk, so that it is so minimal that it is not really classified a risk. For instance, a little insurance policy might do the job, which would be a small risk indeed.

Probably the best way to limit your risk is to do as much research as possible about any enterprise in which you might be thinking of being involved and determining how you can eliminate the risk altogether. Then you can let your adventure begin.

Actually, I have decided to take on a new venture. I am going to prove it is possible to literally start out with zero dollars and end up with one million dollars in the hand. You might think this is impossible. You might think this is a fantasy, but one million in the hand is better than two million in the bush.

What I have decided to do is prove this by recording my little adventure, so members of my club can see for themselves how they, too, can go from zero dollars to a million in twenty steps.

More on this in my next blog.

To Your Success,
